Privacy policy

This page explains what information Tipsy Tips collects when you visit tiipsytips.com or book an appointment, why, who else handles it, and what you can ask us to do with it. In short: we only collect what we need to run your booking, we never sell it, and we don't use advertising trackers.

1. Who we are

Tipsy Tips is a nail studio in Cairo, Egypt, run by Illona. When this policy says "we" or "us", it means Tipsy Tips.

2. What we collect when you book

Your details: name, phone number, email address and, if you give it, your Instagram handle.
Your appointment: the service, nail art level and add-ons you choose, the date and time, the price, any discount code you use, the language you booked in, and anything you write in the notes box (for example inspiration links or allergies).
Deposit screenshot: if a deposit is asked for, the screenshot of your transfer. It may show your name, the account you paid from and the amount.
Your internet (IP) address: saved with the booking so we can stop automated spam bookings.

3. What we record after your visit

So we can look after returning clients, we keep a record of each visit: the date, the service, the price, any discount, what you paid and how (for example cash or InstaPay), how long the appointment took, and short notes about your nails.

4. Anonymous website statistics

To see which pages and services people look at, the website counts visits without identifying you:

A random ID is stored in your browser (in "local storage", not a cookie) so a return visit can be counted as one.
We record the page viewed, which services and buttons are tapped, whether you're on a phone or a computer, the website language, and the website that linked you here.
These statistics do not include your name, contact details or IP address, and they are never linked to your booking.
If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signal, nothing is counted at all. You can also clear this site's data in your browser at any time.

We use no advertising, no social-media tracking pixels and no third-party analytics.

5. Cookies

Visitors and clients don't get cookies from this website. Cookies are only used to keep the studio signed in to its own private dashboard.

6. How we use your information

To confirm, manage, change or cancel your appointment.
To email you about your booking: that it was received, confirmed, changed or cancelled.
To contact you about your appointment by phone, WhatsApp, Instagram or email.
To check a deposit you sent.
To keep your visit history, for example to price a refill correctly or to know when you're due for your next set.
To understand how the website is used and improve it (anonymous statistics only).

We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't add you to marketing lists.

7. Who else handles your information

We use a small number of services to run the studio. They only process your information for us:

GoDaddy hosts the website and its database, where bookings and visit records are stored.
Google Gmail sends the booking emails from tiipsytipsy@gmail.com, so Google handles the content of those emails.
Google Calendar holds the studio's appointment calendar, including your name, contact details, service and appointment time.
Google Fonts supplies the lettering on the website, so your browser loads fonts from Google.
WhatsApp and Instagram, only if you choose to message us there.
InstaPay or another payment app you use to send a deposit. We only see the screenshot you give us.

We may also share information if the law requires it.

8. Google API Services

The website connects to the studio's own Gmail account with permission to send email only, so that booking emails come from tiipsytipsy@gmail.com. It cannot read, search or delete any email, and it has no access to your Google account. Information received from Google APIs is used only to send those emails, and its use follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

9. How long we keep it

Bookings and visit records are kept for as long as you're a client, plus as long as we need them for our own accounts. You can ask us to delete them sooner (see below).
Deposit screenshots are kept with the booking and deleted when the booking is deleted.
The log of emails sent (who to, subject, whether it went through) is deleted after 120 days.
Anonymous statistics aren't linked to you, so they're kept as totals.

10. Your choices

Email tiipsytipsy@gmail.com or message @tiipsytips to:

ask what information we hold about you,
correct anything that's wrong,
ask us to delete your information (we may keep what we need for our accounts),
ask us to stop contacting you.

We'll reply within 30 days.

11. Keeping it safe

The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. The studio dashboard is password protected. Deposit screenshots are kept in a private folder that can't be opened from the internet. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care to protect your information.

12. Children

The booking website isn't meant for children. If you're under 16, please ask a parent or guardian to book for you.

13. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
